Who We Are

Who We Are

David has been keeping bees for nearly 30 years. Having had a fascination with bees since his school days, in 1990 he was helped by a friend in Yorkshire, who initially acted as mentor, guiding him over the initial stages of setting up the apiary and managing his first colony. Over the course of the next few years David gradually built up his apiary, graduating from the traditional WBC hive to National cedar hives, selling surplus honey to local retailers.

A member of the British Beekeeper’s Association and Devon Beekeepers Association, David has kept bees in Yorkshire, Hampshire, the New Forest and Berkshire, before moving to Devon in 2017. Georgina has helped with extracting and bottling the honey over the years, although she has now started to assist David during hive inspections.

Our home apiary is situated on our smallholding in the heart of the Devon countryside, just 20 miles west of Dartmoor. We produce honey from this apiary and out apiaries in other locations in west Devon and Dartmoor, which we sell to local farm shops, delicatessens and independant stores.
