Nearly Home Honey

All our honey is extracted in small batches, the supers being removed from the hives as soon as the honey is ripe and capped. This gives a distinctive yet subtle flavour to our honeys, which reflect the different characteristics of the flowers as they blossom at various times of the season. After extraction it is cold filtered and bottled, ensuring a naturally produced, raw honey.

Fresh from the hive, honey is a clear golden liquid, rich in enzymes, antioxidants and micro nutrients. Depending on the type of nectar collected, it may granulate naturally over time, sometimes producing a wonderful soft set honey. Some honeys, such as heather honey, which has a wonderful distinctive flavour, often available in cut comb sections, will always remain liquid.

Locally produced Raw Honey has become very popular over the last few years, especially with Hay Fever sufferers, as the honey contains microscopic pollen grains which are believed help to build up immunity and thereby alleviate the symptoms.

All our honeys are presented in hexagonal jars, from 1.5oz to 12oz in size.

Beekeeping Taster Session Reviews

"Amazing course if you are looking to start you bee keeping journey. I didn't feel overwhelming with information but at the same time I felt everything was covered and it was amazing to get some real hands on experience with the bees.
David & Georgina are fanatic hosts and their honey is amazing!" John, from Devon.

"I booked a surprise 2 hour beekeeping and honey tasting experience for my partners’ birthday and I’m so pleased I stumbled upon Nearly Home Beekeeping! This was an amazing experience from start to finish. David and Georgina are so knowledgable and such a lovely, welcoming and fun couple. We had a great time and could happily have stayed beyond 2 hours to learn more and obviously taste more of the delicious honey bee offerings. Thank you so much." Jaclyn from Stockport.

"If you are like me, wanted to be a beekeeper but not knowing much about it, this Taster course will just be what you are looking for. Though it's only a 2 hours session, it's very informative and some hands on experience as well. David and Georgina are very knowledgeable and very helpful in explaining and in answering any questions you have.  Also, they are able to help you getting started if you are looking to have your own hive and bees. I would highly recommend this course to any beginner. Oh Yes, you get to taste some lovely honey too!!!" Chern from Devon.

Honey Reviews

I purchased two large pots of the Nearly Home's Devon Honey and what a super honey it is, beautifully smooth and tastes lovely.  Exactly what you want if using on its own or in a recipe." Samantha.

"I purchased a Honey Infusions Selection Box last Christmas as I was looking online for a spiced honey. I wasn’t disappointed as the honey was so flavourful yet delicate. I really enjoyed the fruity flavour of the hibiscus honey and was intrigued by the coffee honey which was delicious drizzled over chocolate porridge. My order arrived quickly and it was well-packaged. I’m happy that my honey came from Devon as I holiday every summer there. When selecting my honey the customer service received from Georgina at Nearly Home Honey was excellent." Maria.
